A key message we believe in at Keenan Family Farm is knowing your farmer, so let us introduce ourselves, we are a young family with 5 children who traded our busy city life and successful careers to seek out a more fulfilling, self-sustainable life in the country. Our growing family is what inspired us to transition our lives to farming. Not only do we want to demonstrate strong work ethic to our children, we want them to be connected to where their food comes from. We hope that they never take food for granted, and that they learn the importance of respecting and caring for the animals that nourish us. Our goal is to raise food for our family and our community all while sustaining our environment for the future.
Knowing where your food comes from starts by knowing your farmer and educating yourself on their practices. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and we’d love for you to stop by so we can show you around the farm. Make informed decisions about your food, ask questions and demand quality.
Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW is the only label that guarantees animals are raised outdoors on pasture or range for their entire lives on an independent farm using truly sustainable, high-welfare farming practices. It is the only label in the U.S. and Canada to require audited, high-welfare production, transport and slaughter practices, and has the single highest impact on consumer purchasing of any food label, according to The Hartman Group.
The Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW standards were developed in collaboration with scientists, veterinarians, researchers and farmers across the globe to maximize practicable, high-welfare farm management, and are publicly available online. We’re proud of AWA’s reputation for being a practical, common-sense program that’s grounded in the realities of everyday farm and ranch life.
